Facelift surgery (face lifting)
Facial plastic surgery successfully corrects even pronounced age-related changes in the face and neck area and helps the patient look younger. The operation is recommended no earlier than the age of 40–50. Until then, collagen-stimulating injections such as Radiesse are recommended.
Surgery under general anaesthesia takes approximately 3–5 hours. Afterwards the scars are confined mainly to the hair-bearing scalp. One night must be spent at the clinic. Sutures are removed on the tenth day after surgery. The optimal result becomes visible approximately 2 months after the operation.
Midface lift
A midface lift is performed on the middle third of the face, that is, on sagging cheeks. This type of surgery is carried out on patients aged 40 and over. It lifts the skin of the cheeks together with the underlying tissue, improving the contour of the face.
The operation takes about 2 hours and one night is spent at the clinic. Compressive tapes are worn on the face for a week. The result lasts on average 5–10 years.
Mini face lift
This operation is performed on younger women (aged 30–40) who wish to lift sagging cheek skin. The incision is placed in the temple area within the hair-bearing scalp; the skin is released down to the lower part of the cheek and drawn upwards with special sutures placed under the skin and fixed to the temporal aponeurosis. A compression mask must be worn for 10 days.
